-in the middle of the coffee table was a book that nobody opened. -it wasn’t on purpose but rather because everyone went for the photo albums first. -it sat there. -watching. -knowing just as many secrets as the photos, if not more. -with every visitor it would remember the conversations -record them without a pen -and absorb the mood and tones of the words. -good and bad. -pleasant or sad. -for this morning, it recognized the family member that only came around with somber news. -though there were four members that lived in the house, only one was present for the news -and only one more would hear the rest.
